When installing a head unit, it has either 2 or 4 RCA outputs in the rear. You wire those 2 or 4 RCA's to the 2 or 4 RCAs in the 4 channel amplifier. Than you run the speakers to the amplifier. You completely void the stock unit. Which size speakers to get? I would buy an adapter plate. I think I bought mine on ebay for $20. It didn't fit perfectly but I used silicone to seal it to the door frame. The adapter plate was for 6.5" speakers. The correct way to do car audio in a 2 seater is to only have front speakers (for vocals) and eliminate the rear speakers. If you install a subwoofer or 2 they go in the rear. You don't want your ears to strain to try to listen to vocals from the rear. I would purchase a set of components (1 6.5 speaker and a tweeter) and install a pair on the front doors. You get what you pay for. Please don't get kenwood or pioneer or that crap. Get some nice USA speakers like Cadence, Focal, cdt, boston acoustic, Memphis audio, hertz ect ect.
